How Does Volunteering Work?

Volunteer Code of Conduct

Volunteers must not use their position with the Foundation to obtain personal financial benefits, make unauthorised representations, collect donations independently, misuse organisational resources or engage in discriminatory, abusive, threatening or inappropriate conduct.
Safeguarding and Protection
Admighty Foundation recognises the importance of safeguarding children, vulnerable individuals and other programme participants. Volunteers participating in activities involving such groups may be subject to additional safeguarding requirements.
Volunteers should never exploit, intimidate, harass or abuse a beneficiary or programme participant. Concerns regarding suspected abuse, exploitation, harassment or unsafe conduct should be reported through the appropriate organisational mechanism.
Where programmes involve children, volunteers must follow all applicable child-protection and safeguarding requirements.
Health, Safety and Responsible Participation
Volunteers should participate only in activities that they are physically and practically able to perform safely. They should follow safety instructions, use appropriate protective equipment where required and immediately report hazards, accidents or incidents.
Field activities may involve environmental, weather, transportation, animal, public-health or other risks. Volunteers should not take unnecessary risks or undertake activities outside their training or authorisation.

Recognition and Learning

Depending on the nature and duration of participation, volunteers may receive certificates, letters of appreciation or other forms of acknowledgement where appropriate. Such recognition is subject to the Foundation’s verification of actual participation and applicable organisational procedures.
Volunteers should understand that certificates or recognition should reflect genuine participation and should not be represented as professional qualifications unless they constitute a formally recognised qualification.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteering is a commitment. Individuals who accept an assignment should make reasonable efforts to fulfil their agreed responsibilities and communicate promptly if they are unable to participate.
Volunteers should maintain punctuality, respect instructions, protect organisational property and information, and represent the Foundation accurately.
They should not make public statements, commitments, fundraising appeals or representations on behalf of Admighty Foundation unless they have been specifically authorised to do so.
